About 108.bt
What is 108.bt?
A way to place yourself among the 108 chortens raised at Gelephu Mindfulness City: a selfie, your photos and one prayer, sealed for as long as you choose.
Who runs it?
21 Tech Gelephu, on behalf of Project 108, Gelephu Mindfulness City.
Does it cost anything?
No. Taking part is free.
Dates
Until when can I take part?
Until 15 November, 23:59 Bhutan time. After that, everything placed is kept as it is.
When are the chortens raised?
On 1 November 2026, all 108 in a single day.
What happens on 21 February 2027?
The reveal. Every photo becomes public, and prayers sealed until that day open. It is a different day from the raising.
Signing in
How do I sign in?
With a Bhutanese phone number or an email address, and the six-digit code we send you. Or with the Bhutan App.
My code hasn't arrived.
Give it a minute, then ask for a new one. An email code can land in spam. Check the number or address you typed.
Can I use a phone number from outside Bhutan?
No. Sign in with your email address or the Bhutan App instead.
Your selfie
Do I have to take a selfie?
Yes. It is how you appear among the 108, and the next steps open once it is taken.
The camera says it can't see my face.
Face a light rather than having it behind you, hold the phone at eye level, and keep your whole face inside the guide. Allow the camera when your browser asks.
Can I take it again?
Yes, from your Home page, until 15 November.
Photos
How many can I add?
Up to 10 photos and 1 video.
Who can see them, and when?
Nobody else until 21 February 2027. On that day they become public, as they are: we do not blur faces. You can delete any of them until 15 November.
Will you post my photos anywhere?
Only to your own TikTok, and only if you link it and agree to posting there. Only your approved photos are posted, each once.
Your prayer
Written or spoken?
Either. Write up to 2,500 words in Dzongkha or English, or record up to 3 minutes. You can also bring the words in from a .txt file.
How long is it sealed?
You choose: until 21 February 2027, or 1, 3, 12, 60 or 108 years after it, or a day of your own up to 108 years away.
Can anyone read it before then?
Once sealed on 15 November, no one can open it before its day, not even us. It is kept in a permanent public archive and opens on its day whether or not this site still exists. Where your prayer is kept.
Can I change it?
Yes, as often as you like until 15 November, 23:59 Bhutan time.
TikTok
Do I have to link TikTok?
No. It is optional, and you can skip that step.
What do you do with it?
If you agree, we post your approved photos to it, each once. Nothing else. The key that lets us post is stored encrypted and deleted when you unlink. More in the Privacy Policy.
How do I unlink it?
At any time, in your TikTok posting settings on 108.bt, or from your account's settings on TikTok.
Changing or leaving
Can I change things later?
Your selfie, photos and prayer can all be changed until 15 November, 23:59 Bhutan time. After that, nothing can be changed.
How do I delete my account?
Write to mail@108.bt from the email you signed in with, or include your phone number or email in the message. We delete it within 30 days. A prayer sealed after 15 November can no longer be deleted, but we can stop showing it. More in the Privacy Policy.
